Data Execution Prevention

Z-DATdump and Data Execution Prevention (Windows Server 2000 / 2003)
The Data Execution Prevention (DEP) is a new security feature built into Windows versions from Windows XP with service pack 2 upwards. DEP monitors programs during their execution. It may happen that "allowed" programs are closed by DEP. If Z-DATdump exits without an error message during activation, you should remove the program from DEP monitoring and restart the activation.

Windows 2000 and later
Choose "System" from the Control Panel and go to the "Advanced" tab. In the "Performance" section, click on "Options". Go to the "Data Execution Prevention" tab in the dialog window.

Windows Vista and later
Choose "System" from the Control Panel and select "Advanced system settings" from the menu on the left-hand side. Go to the "Advanced" tab and click "Options" in the "Performance" section. In the new window, go to the "Data Execution Prevention" tab.

Then, select "Turn on DEP for essential Windows programs and services only" and click OK.
